In all we have four units; each can comfortably accommodate six adults and two children. All are furnished in contemporary style to a high standard. There’s a master bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed and en-suite bathroom, as well as a separate twin room adjacent to a second bathroom. Upstairs, there’s a spacious loft area with its own living area which can sleep four; with two singles and a bunk bed, this is perfect for the kids. It’s even got its own TV so they don’t hog the one downstairs.
Air-conditioning in all the bedrooms ensures that you’ll get a decent night’s sleep, even on the hottest nights of summer. If you choose to visit in winter, the units are heated, and though that’s rarely necessary, it’s good to know it’s there if you need it. We’ve thought about storage too. Instead of having to live out of a suitcase, you’ll find fitted wardrobes as well as dressing tables with mirrors. There’s a hairdryer, iron and ironing board as well.
In Zulu, Cambalala means relax, so as you’d expect we’ve tucked our chalets away in a quiet corner of the Lodge grounds. That’s not to say you’ll be undisturbed. Graceful impala and playful vervet monkeys are frequent visitors to Units 1 and 4, bringing South Africa’s famous wildlife right to your doorstep. Overlooking a small dam, you might be lucky enough to spot a baby croc from Unit 2. Unit 3 stands alongside a stream shaded by trees, making this a popular choice with the area’s birdlife as they seek respite from the sun. Whichever of the 4 equally appointed units you end up staying in, put your feet up, light up the braai on your spacious private deck and wait for nature to come to you. While we make every effort to accommodate requests for particular units, we cannot guarantee this.
Comfortable and Stylish
Our 4-star graded – units sleep up to eight people
Here at Cambalala, we supply fresh linen for every arrival which is changed weekly. Towels apart from face cloths are provided for use at the property, and that includes swimming towels if you wish to make use of the Lodge’s three pools. There’s no sense in doing the chores on holiday, so we’ll take care of those for you. We clean daily, and you won’t need to make your own bed or do the washing up. If you need to do some laundry there is an affordable laundry service and also a self-service laundromat option at the lodge. There is also an iron and ironing board in the house for guest use. The units offer reliable WiFi access, though we do ask you to be considerate of other guests’ needs when using data.

The Lodge
Kruger Park Lodge golf and wildlife holiday estate
You’ll need to bring very little when you stay with us. The kitchen comes fully equipped and you’ll find an oven and hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is an excellent restaurant within the Kruger Park Lodge complex, and several more in nearby Hazyview, but it’s easy to prepare your own meals should you wish to eat in. Although, with your own braai on your private deck, we’re confident that eating in will actually mean eating al-fresco. And we’ll clean the braai for you, so don’t forget to pack the charcoal.
Sitting out on the deck, directly accessed from the living room, is one of the great pleasures of a stay here at Cambalala. Our units are located in a quiet area of the resort, meaning that during the day you’ll listen to fish eagles and hippos rather than voices and car engines. After dark, the soundtrack changes to a frog chorus punctuated by the hooting of owls. Because of this, we ask that you keep noise to a minimum so that all our guests can enjoy nature’s melody uninterrupted.
Cambalala is like a home away from home – only better.
